Our schools are in crisis. While costs saw, teachers and support staff are facing the prospects of more pay cuts (after a decade of cuts). At the same time, school budgets are being squeezed, impacting the learning of children. Teachers are leaving the profession in droves and more children are facing the prospect of being taught by non-specialist teachers or short term cover teachers.
We want the Government to properly fund our schools and deliver an end to the pay and budget cuts facing school staff. Lancashire County Council, who run the local education authority, have a key role to play in supporting our call.
Write to your Councillor today and call on them to support the call for properly funded schools. Encourage them to write to the DfE in support of schools.
